Helen Parkinson

Role:

Director of SCITT

Responsibilities:

I am Assistant Principal with responsibility for Professional Learning. This involves responsibility for staff training and development at all levels from Initial Teacher Training to Continued Professional Development and Leadership Development.

I have recently developed at Professional Learning Framework which allows staff to map their Professional Learning journey. I am the Director of our SCITT and manage the SCITT team. I am also responsible for the strategic development of our SCITT provision. I also lead on ITT for our Teaching School Alliance.

Sam Buckley

Role:

SCITT Manager

Responsibilities:

To manage the operational running of the Ashton on Mersey SCITT.

Prior to working at Ashton on Mersey Sam has worked for the NCTL and Ofsted. Since 2012 she has been working at Ashton with experience of all areas of our Teaching School work. Sam’s role involves the operational management of all SCITT activity; placements, facilitators, finance, quality assurance, marketing and recruitment.

Karen Craven

Role:

SCITT Administrator

Responsibilities:

To support the team with the operational running of the SCITT.

Karen will keep track of student’s attendance and review documentation throughout the year. Karen will be supporting Sam with all SCITT activity including questions regarding placements, centre based sessions, etc.

Hannah Goddard


Role:

Primary Course Leader

Responsibilities:

I am a qualified primary school teacher and have transferred my skills into running a very successful School Sport Partnership with Ashton on Mersey as the hub school for the last 8 years. In 2014 I was appointed Course Leader for our Primary with PE programme I am responsible for the operational running of this programme plus the leadership of its future development.

Katie Williams


Role:

Secondary Course Leader

Responsibilities:

I have been teaching Physical Education for 10 years and have been teaching at Ashton on Mersey School for the last five years of my career. Previous to arriving at Ashton, I worked in a variety of schools and have extensive experience of teaching PE across all key stages and examination subjects. My previous roles have involved being a School Sports Coordinator within the Leeds West Sports Partnership and an Assistant Leader of Department at a challenging and diverse inner city school in Leeds. I am now Course Leader for the SCITT Secondary PE Programme and I am responsible for the strategic management of the Secondary PE programme and the leadership of the trainee teachers.
