Ashton on Mersey SCITT together with specialist Teaching schools from across GM and Lancashire have identified a unique opportunity to design a programme to develop a specialist SEN ITT training route producing high quality trainees for either special or mainstream schools.
Trainee Teachers from this programme would be seen as the first choice to gain employment in a special school or have the specialist knowledge needed to support the development of high quality SEN teaching in mainstream schools.
Our Secondary English with SEN has four areas of learning:
- Centre Based Learning – session based activities delivered at Ashton on Mersey School or Masters Level study at Manchester Metropolitan University.
- School Based Learning – learning activity completed at your placement schools
- Guided Learning – learning completed on an individual basis
- Elective Learning – This allows you to develop a second subject area, Maths and or Science.
